From Monday November 25 to Wednesday November 27, NWO and the Japanese Science and Technology Agency (JST) are jointly hosting an online matchmaking workshop for the call for proposals ‘Unconventional Information Processing Technologies’. This workshop will serve potential applicants from both countries at the same time.

About the call

The main aim of this collaboration between NWO and JST is to stimulate transnational research cooperation between the Netherlands and Japan in the area of unconventional information processing technologies. These countries have partly overlapping but also complementary expertise and experience in high-tech fields. Cooperation between the two countries is therefore essential to make the most of the strengths of both countries. For more information about the call, see the pre-announcement page.

Matchmaking

During the matchmaking meeting, NWO and JST give researchers the opportunity to pitch the project idea by the main or co-applicant. The aim of the matchmaking meeting is to foster the community of researchers in the field of semiconductors and/or quantum technologies and other areas related to unconventional information processing technologies, while bringing potential applicants and collaboration partners into closer contact with each other. During the meeting, research proposals and ideas can be exchanged.

NWO and JST invite potential applicants from Japan and the Netherlands who are actively seeking partners in the other country to carry out international joint research projects between the two countries on information processing technologies. Potential applicants are invited to give a 5-minute pitch during the event to express their intention to collaborate. Participants who wish to listen to the pitches, and get in touch with the presenters to find partners in the other country, are also welcome.

Time: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. CET (Netherlands time) / 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. (Japan time)

Location: Online (link will be provided after the registration)

The workshop will take place on three mornings from 25 to 27 November, 9:00 – 11:00. Based on the registrations, a schedule of pitches will be made divided over these days. Please note that your contribution will be planned on one of these days and we cannot guarantee a specific day in advance. The schedule will be announced in early November.
