Would you like to explore the future of semiconductor technology and discover new business opportunities? Then join the innovation mission to South Korea. This mission offers insight into South Korea’s innovative ecosystem and opens doors to valuable collaborations for the Dutch semiconductor sector.
This innovation mission will teach you more about South Korea’s semiconductor landscape and government strategy. It also offers unique opportunities to further explore potential business and innovation collaborations, mainly in the areas of advanced packaging (combining multiple chips into a single unit), chip design and next-generation semiconductor equipment.
Why South Korea?
South Korea is the global market leader in the development and manufacture of memory chips. To maintain and strengthen this position, they are investing heavily in their semiconductor industry, as announced in The System Semiconductor Vision and Strategy. An investment package of $422 billion will be deployed until 2026 to promote and expand the value chain. This includes design without manufacturing, packaging & integration and AI chip developments for mobility, IoT and the defence industry, among others. This presents unique opportunities for Dutch companies and knowledge institutions.
Aim of the mission
During this mission, you will gain insight into the ecosystem, innovative developments and opportunities in the semiconductor domain. You will also explore trends and opportunities for long-term (public-private) collaboration between knowledge institutions and companies in the field of research and development. In addition, the mission focuses on linking innovative knowledge and technology from the Netherlands to market opportunities in South Korea.
