The ChipFest! networking event will take place on Wednesday 4 June from 2 pm to 6 pm as part of the ChipTech Twente Talent* programme in Enschede (Designlab (The Gallery), Hengelosestraat 500, Enschede).

During ChipFest, students from Saxion and the University of Twente will be introduced to professionals from the ChipTech industry.

Jos Benschop (ASML) will deliver a keynote speech on ‘The Future of Semicon’.

Afterwards, attendees will split into breakout sessions, where students will choose a track based on their course of study:

• Tech & AI
  • Discover how AI and software are used to design, test and continuously improve chips.
• Robotics & Electronics
  • Experience how robots and electronics work together to enable chip production with nanoscale precision.
• Materials & Lab Sciences
  • Discover how materials and laboratory research form the basis of powerful and reliable chips.

The students need to gain as realistic and inspiring a picture as possible of working in this sector — and we need your help to achieve this.

For this event, the organisers are looking for:

• companies wishing to present at the informal careers fair (free to attend) (16.15 – 18.00) and
• enthusiastic staff member(s) (young professional or high-level professional) who would like to give an inspiring short presentation in a lecture-tour style setting (approx. 5 minutes):
  • How the speaker started their career.
  • What a typical day or week looks like.
  • Tips for students looking to enter the chiptech sector.

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, during which students can ask questions to the professionals present. The aim is for the session to be accessible and for students to be able to ask all their questions about:

• Working in the chiptech sector.
• Career opportunities.
• Future technologies.

At the end, each speaker will share their best career advice in a single sentence. It would be ideal to have three professionals per breakout theme.

Following the breakout session, an informal drinks reception will be organised where companies can introduce themselves to students (company fair).

During the company fair, you can represent your company using, for example, a banner and promotional items.

This is an excellent opportunity to:

• make direct contact with motivated students
• promote internships and final-year projects
• meet potential future employees

It may be beneficial to have a recruitment representative present.
