UT spin-off Sabratha was named the winner of the 4TU Impact Award yesterday at the Fuse Enschede entrepreneurship event. The company manufactures photonic chips that enable fibre-optic networks to handle greater volumes of internet data.

According to the jury, Sabratha won in the spin-off category because it has a highly scalable and very innovative product that is already making waves in the market. The company focuses in particular on how we can connect more devices to a network that is ten times faster, without having to upgrade the physical infrastructure every few years.
The company won tickets to Slush Helsinki, a global event where start-ups, investors and industry representatives come together. This year’s winner of the 4TU Impact Award was Anatra Energy from Eindhoven University of Technology.
